PostSubject: Captain's Ready Room   Captain's Ready Room I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 27, 2011 10:24 pm

The captain's ready room is a personal office reserved for the commanding officer of a starship and is typically accessed from the bridge.

Here, the captain can engage in administrative work with all relevant office equipment at hand without interfering with bridge operations. In addition, this room is usually the preferred place where the captain can hold private discussions and/or receive classified communications.

Chakotay: I followed her, "We need to figure out what's happening. Before it happens again. I also have a few...private issues that you need to know about."

Kathryn: I walked over and sat down against the window. We were at full stop. The stars were there, as usual, twinkling in the darkness. I stared out for a moment before speaking slightly absently. "Take a seat, Commander," I paused, thinking. "I think we should start with these... private issues, then work on what to do, don't you?" I asked, looking at him.

Chakotay: I watched her as she moved over to the window. "Yes," I agreed before I moved to sit down. I looked down, thinking about how to continue. If this was going to continue, we needed to hurry. There was no telling when the crew would switch places again, or who would be leaving this ship to go to a different time next. "I told you about different members of the crew moving to different times. I am assuming that we are just switching places with one other time. The time right before Voyager was taken by the Caretaker out of the Alpha Quadrant and into the Delta Quadrant. When the Kazon were invading Voyager, I went to Main Engineering to secure it. We had no idea where the Kazon were planning on going in order to take over Voyager. I went there, and was approached by Seska. The Seska was from before the Val Jean ever met Voyager, or any of the crew. She is out of place where she is, and she may still be here. I needed to tell you the whole story though, before I go and see. When she approached me, she asked me why I was wearing a Starfleet uniform. I told her I would explain later, but she was insistent. She believes that I am still her Captain. I told her that the Maquis were planning on taking over Voyager, and told her to wait for a signal. From the reports I got the first time this happened, most of the crew were the original Maquis. The Maquis that never met any of the Voyager crew. She was instructed, by me, to spread the word to the rest of the Maquis. There is a chance that even if some of the Maquis are from our time, right now, that they might decide that the mutiny is better than staying under command of Starfleet." I paused and looked at her, "I just thought that I would tell you. I was completely out of line in saying what I did, but I believed, at the time, that it was necessary. If she is still on Voyager, it may still be necessary. I'm not sorry for what I did, I only wanted to let you know so that you were caught up on every aspect of what has happened. But, that wasn't exactly something to tell everyone who was on the Bridge."

Kathryn: I took in every word of what he said. Seska. Maquis. Taking over Voyager. "Right now I'm afraid we don't have time for me to reprimand you. I will tell you that I am not happy with what you have done. Seska is a danger to all of us. You best of all know that." I stood up and shook my head, walking to the other side of the room, before turning around to face him again. "Chakotay, you are my first officer. I depend on you. Although when you go and do things like this, it lessens my trust. I need to trust you. The crew needs me to be able to trust you. Now I have to make a decision by myself. That decision is, with how dangerous Seska is, before we can do anything to fix what is happening, we must play along with what you have told her. If we lose the trust she has in you, it's likely she will become outwardly dangerous. I'm afraid the other Maquis will also have to play along. You need to find a way to convince them all, without telling them this is planned. It's best if this stays between the two of us, so the others are convincing. It's imperative that no one else knows, Chakotay, and I am trusting you with that,"

Chakotay: I looked down, "I understand that you need to be able to trust me, but at the time, I felt that it was the only thing I could do. She may have taken advantage of the fluctuations in time, and I felt that was more of a risk. As far as I know, she has already let all of the other Maquis know. She was never one to wait on completing an order. I'll speak to her again, and get back to you as soon as I can." I looked back up at her, "I am very sorry for the situation that I have put you in. Which is why we need to find a way out of this as soon as possible." I paused for a few seconds before continuing, "Both times that this has happened, Voyager hasn't been going anywhere. I don't believe that we are flying into anything, which would be the logical explanation. We could attempt leaving this area of space to see if there is something here that is causing this to happen, but we do need some sort of a plan. We can't have this continually happening without us knowing who is on the ship and what time period they are from. Last time, we went around asking people if they had ever been to the Delta Quadrant, but B'Elanna is right, we can't just canvas the entire crew again. They are going to be suspicious, if they aren't already. If we have all of our Senior Officers here from the correct area of time, we can have them observe the members of their team. Although that might take too long, we don't know when or if this will happen again."

Kathryn: "Understood. Get working on getting the others in on it, be careful, and don't downplay anything. Do all you can to make what you're doing believable. It's imperative that you have all of them believing you, and following you completely." I told him, walking back over.

Kathryn: "You might need to talk to her, although she was just on the Bridge, so check with her. If Seska hasn't talked to her, you will need to convince her you are serious as well, she was your second in command, wasn't she?"

Kathryn: I nodded. "Have a seat, Tom," I told him, waiting for him to move to sit before speaking again. "Chakotay says he just had a visit from B'Elanna. She told him that you are still giving her a hard time about what happened earlier today. Do you understand that Chakotay is one of her first and oldest friends? I don't think she would do anything to hurt that friendship, so she went along with what he asked her to do, under my orders, so as to not disturb anything. I'm sure she was confused. She seemed barely able to do what he asked. Tom, if you're going to blame anyone for what happened, blame me. Not B'Elanna,"

Tom: I stayed standing, "She doesn't seem phased by it at all. And then she has the nerve to ask me what's wrong?!" I shook my head, "If she is so...willing to run off with Chakotay the minute he talks about a mutiny with the Maquis, how do I know that she won't do that again? Sure, this time it wasn't the real deal, but she didn't know that. She thought she was really betraying every single member of this crew just because Chakotay asked her to. Just because they are...old friends." I looked at her, "No, if I'm going to blame anyone, it will be Chakotay. He was the one that started the whole thing, wasn't he? Well, then that is who I blame."

Kathryn: I shook my head. "Tom. This isn't anyone's fault. The circumstances were beyond anyone's control. As for B'Elanna not being phased by it... she likes to deal with things herself. She's probably much more affected by it than she's letting anyone see. As your friend, I am asking you to speak with her, civilly. Even if she lashes out at you, don't lash out at her. I'm sure she's looking for you to be understanding right now, not to criticize her, or tell her what she's doing is wrong. As much as you might disagree with it...."

Tom: "She won't want to just talk about it, Captain. Like you said, she likes to deal with things her own way, and talking about things civilly isn't one of her own strategies." I looked down, thinking.
